How do I register?

Potential users must complete the required registration forms, execute the NLEX non-disclosure agreement and provide all requested background verification information. NLEX will review the application once all required information and documentation is received – we will not review an incomplete application. The approval process may take up to, and sometimes more than, a week to complete depending on the specifics of the information provided. You will be notified by email if and when your account is enabled. Please note that certain sellers may require additional bidder qualifications in order to participate in their sales. Who can register as a buyer?

Only businesses are allowed to register and participate in loan sales offered through NLEX – consumer transactions are prohibited. In order to participate in any sales, the potential buyer must certify that it is a sophisticated entity in the business of purchasing and/or collecting distressed assets such as those offered through NLEX.  Users are required to agree to NLEX's terms and conditions of use upon each login. NLEX reserves the right to reject, terminate or suspend any NLEX user at any time. Back to top

Does it cost anything to register as a buyer?

NLEX does not currently charge a fee to register. NLEX may, however, charge a buyer premium in connection with certain auctions, which will be due in addition to the applicable asset purchase price. The auction flyer and due diligence materials will disclose if a buyer premium applies. Please carefully review all sale information prior to placing a bid. Back to top

Will I be purchasing debt direct from the issuer?

In most cases, yes. The majority of portfolios listed through NLEX are sold direct from banks, credit unions, telecomm companies and other credit originators. If you are the winning bidder and the seller accepts your offer, your company will execute a purchase and sale agreement direct with the seller. NLEX may also offer portfolios on behalf of various debt buyers and other resellers, in which case a purchase and sale agreement will be executed with the reseller. State sales may include NLEX, or an affiliate thereof, on the chain of title – refer to the “Can I bid on individual states” section below for more information. Back to top

Can I bid on individual states?

NLEX offers certain portfolios on a state-by-state basis through our State Buyer Exchangeprogram. NLEX may solicit national bids in addition to state-by-state offers. The seller makes the final determination whether a portfolio is sold on a state or national basis. If a portfolio is successfully sold on a state-by-state basis, NLEX (or an affiliate thereof) may be on the chain of title, but all accounts will be immediately transferred to the winning bidder. In order to access and bid on state auctions, a user must be enabled as a state buyer. Please contact Tom Hicks (chrisj@nlex.com) or call 800-264-3683 for more information. Back to top
